Thakershy Charitable Trust is a registered Non-Government Organisation (NGO) established as a Public Charitable Trust on 2nd December 1978 in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
For more than four decades, the Trust has been dedicated to improving the quality of life by providing accessible healthcare services and supporting community initiatives, ensuring that quality medical care reaches people from all sections of society.

1978
A Vision to Serve Society
Thakershy Charitable Trust was established on 2nd December 1978 with the vision of providing healthcare support to people from all sections of society, especially the poor and underprivileged. The trust was founded by Shri Navnitbhai Thakershy in memory of his father Shri Thakershybhai Lallubhai Shah, after whom the Trust is named.
1980
A Mission Born to Serve Society
To fulfill our mission of providing accessible and quality medical care, a plot of land of around 2400 square yards was generously donated by the Shri Jethalal Amrutlal Patel Public Charitable Trust, laying the foundation for a charitable hospital dedicated to serving the community.
1983
Beginning of Medical Services
On 15th May 1983, the Trust established its hospital in Ahmedabad to provide affordable medical services. Starting with a small infrastructure, the hospital gradually expanded its facilities and services to meet the growing healthcare needs of society.
2000
Hospital Renamed with Renewed Vision
In 2000, the hospital was renamed Sushri Jasumatiben S. Surti Charitable General Hospital following a generous contribution, marking a new chapter in its journey of service and growth.
2020
COVID Service & Reconstruction Initiative
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Trust actively stepped forward to support the community by providing timely medical care, distributing food, and operating multiple COVID care centers for patients in need.
2023
A New Hospital Project Takes Shape
By 2023, the Trust moved forward with its ambitious new hospital project, aiming to develop a multi-storey, modern healthcare facility equipped with advanced medical infrastructure and services.
2025
JS Hospital Revamp — Redefining Patient Care
In 2025, the Trust completed the revamp of JS Hospital, transforming it into a modern healthcare facility with improved infrastructure, upgraded equipment and enhanced patient-care services.
